Our client, a well-established accountancy firm based in Staveley, South Lakes, is seeking an enthusiastic Account Assistant to join their team. If you have a passion for numbers, excellent communication skills, and a desire to provide exceptional service to clients, this could be the perfect role for you!

The individual ideally would be ACCA level or studying ACCA and capable of preparing work ready for review.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  2. Assist with drafting tax returns and computations alongside the accounts work.
  3. Prepare VAT returns.
  4. Communicate confidently and professionally with clients.
  5. Handle queries and correspondence with HMRC.
  6. Analyse data and produce accurate reports.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Previous experience in preparing self-assessment tax returns, year-end accounts, and corporation tax computations.
  2. Currently studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent experience.
  3. Ability to meet deadlines and take a proactive approach.
  4. Strong attention to detail and aptitude for figures.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  6. Motivated, enthusiastic, and self-driven.
  7. Ability to work towards individual and team targets.
  8. Problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing excellent service.
  9. Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate and organise.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Knowledge and experience of using cloud accounting software.
  2. Knowledge and experience of using Sage software.
