Job description

A great opportunity has become available to support South Holland District CouncilsHousing team to make a difference.

The post would initially be fixed term for 2 years with the possibility of the post being extended further.

We’re looking for someone who is a true people person—someone who can communicate effectively, stay calm under pressure, and show professionalism. Proving sufficient suitable accommodation will often be a challenge and you will assist the Accommodation Manager to overcome such challenges!

In this role, accuracy is key. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders, so strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships are essential.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Administration of temporary and resettlement accommodation and provision of nightly paid accommodation.
  • Arrange nightly paid accommodation as required.
  • Liaise with the occupants and relevant organisations for those accommodated.

This position is the foundation of our service—without it, we couldn’t succeed. You’ll be part of a close-knit team that values collaboration and support. Every day is different, and you’ll have exposure to various aspects of housing, with opportunities to learn and develop.

You’ll have the opportunity to work flexibly, spending time in the office to collaborate with colleagues and build networks, while also having the option to work hybrid. You will be required to attend the council’s offices when needed and travel to appointments within South Holland. The ability to travel across the district for visits and meetings is essential.
