A leading aerospace company in Bristol is seeking a Lead F&D and Static Stress Engineer to support the A300/A310 fleet. This role involves handling technical investigations, leading projects, and collaborating with various teams to ensure airworthiness. Ideal candidates should have expertise in fatigue and damage tolerance, excellent communication skills, and a relevant engineering background. Location: Filton, Bristol. Travel Required: Some travel within UK and Europe.

Are you passionate about Aircraft Structures with strong experience in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&D T) and Static Stress? Are you motivated by taking an active role in a variety of projects and investigations — including A300/A310 digitalisation, sustainability and spare obsolescence management — to support the next 15 years of operation with our key Freighter customers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) as well as unique operators (Zero-G, A310 MRTT, Beluga ST, Passengers and PAX to Freighter operators)? Are you familiar with Airbus Fatigue & Damage Tolerance as well as Static Stress processes and tools, but also open to developing new skills such as Design and support to continued airworthiness? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as the A300/A310 Wing Lead F&D and Static Stress Engineer, part of the A300/A310 Wing Structures Engineering team.
This is a unique prospect to join a dynamic and diverse team working on Engineering tasks focused on delivering the best value for our customers. Your primary role will be to support the A300/A310 Chief Engineers Office and ultimately the in-service fleet, reacting to operators’ requests & queries, as well as leading in-service occurrence investigations and supporting modifications and improvement projects. As the Lead F&D and Static Stress Engineer you will be responsible for providing leadership and delivery of approved design data in line with valid methods, processes and tools to the A300/A310 programme, in Time Cost and Quality, working closely with F&D and Static Stress signatories, as well as Airworthiness, Repair teams and sub-contract companies as required.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in many different activities, to support your development, including Static Stress, F&D and Design tasks. You will also have the opportunity to work on other Airbus Programmes such as A320, A330 and A380.
