Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Dartford is seeking motivated individuals for administrative roles in their Emergency Department. You will assist in patient registration, manage records, and provide essential support to the clinical staff. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in public service. This position offers a salary of £25,768 per annum, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time employment. Shift work including nights and weekends will be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with people in a setting providing services to the general public.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities is desirable.
  • Previous work as Receptionist is desirable.

Job Summary

This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship. All applicants are expected to have valid right to work document to work in the UK when applying for this position.

Are you motivated, enthusiastic and looking for a challenge? Would you like the opportunity to join our friendly, supportive and dynamic team in our Emergency Department? You would be working alongside clinical staff, ward clerks and receptionists to assist in the smooth running of the busy department. You will also be expected to undertake other administrative duties such as registering patients, making appointments, booking transport, filing, retrieving and archiving old notes, and answering calls both internally and externally.

The department can offer you support and ongoing professional development.

Working days, nights, weekends, bank holidays and/or shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Register patients, make appointments, book transport and manage patient records.
  • File, retrieve and archive old notes.
  • Answer calls both internally and externally.
  • Support the smooth running of the busy Emergency Department.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, depending on the needs of the situation.
  • Handle situations under pressure effectively, dealing with vulnerable and anxious clients.
  • Work shifts including nights, bank holidays and weekends.
  • Use computer systems efficiently and manage time and workload effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential qualifications / training: Good communication skills, computer skills.
  • Essential previous experience: Experience of working with people in a setting providing services to the general public.
  • Desirable experience: Experience working with people with disabilities, previous work as Receptionist.
  • Essential skills / knowledge: Take responsibility for one's actions, good communication skills, ability to prioritise, maintain confidentiality, work in a team.
