Job Overview

We are currently recruiting a Locum Junior A&E / Urgent Care Nurse (Qualified HCA) to join our team in Sandwell. We support several practices and healthcare services, offering you a wide range of flexible shift options to suit your lifestyle.

Tasks

Taking initial vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations, oxygen saturations).

Conducting basic patient assessments, including presenting illness, symptoms, and red-flag warning signs.

Using appropriate clinical assessment tools to identify deteriorating or unwell patients.

Supporting nurses and clinicians in day-to-day duties within A&E/Urgent Care.

Assisting with wound care, dressings, and basic clinical procedures (within competence).

Maintaining accurate patient records and completing documentation as required.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in Primary Care and A&E/Urgent Care settings.

Health and Social Care NVQ Level 3 or higher qualification.

Ability to take initial vital signs, assess presenting symptoms, and use appropriate clinical assessment tools to recognise unwell patients.

Must not require sponsorship.

Valid passport (British or non-British).

Right to Work evidence:

  • British passport holders: Passport only
  • Non-British passport holders: Share Code + valid passport/ID

Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

Completion of all mandatory training modules (or willingness to complete).
