A healthcare organization in Barnsley is seeking an enthusiastic Pastoral Support Worker to assist Health Care Support Workers with their training and promote their career progression. The role involves working closely with the Workforce Development Team to enhance support and ensure a positive training experience. The Workforce Development and Student Support Team provide a range oflearning opportunities for all staff at Barnsley Hospital NHS FoundationTrust. The department promotes theconcepts of lifelong and inter-professional learning for all staff.
We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated person to support Health CareSupport Workers with Care Certificate training and completion, provide pastoralsupport to new to care clinical staff and promote the HCSW and HCA role as acareer pathway for people within the local area.
Working closely with the WorkforceDevelopment and Student Support Team, to enhance the pastoral support given toHealthcare Support Workers, with a focus on retention, resilience building andperson-centred care. The post holderwill be a key member of the Workforce Developmentand Student Support Team, working along all aspects of the care pathway withrelevant nursing colleagues to enhance HCSW knowledge, skills and expertise.
The post holder will have hadexperience of the Healthcare support worker role, be self-motivated and have theenthusiasm and commitment to form effective and mutually supportive workpartnerships. This will start at the recruitment process, through the care certificateand into clinical practice.
The post holder will be aninspirational role model, reflecting the Trust core values and work in closeco-operation with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team.
