Overview

We are recruiting self-motivated and enthusiastic support workers, providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities within their own homes. You will make a difference to the quality of a person's life by supporting them with their daily living activities. This can include intimate personal care including showering/bathing, dressing or undressing, assisting with toileting, etc. It will also include administering medication, supporting with meal preparation, and participating in leisure activities to enable individuals to get the most from their daily life. You will have an understanding of the importance of social inclusion, promoting independence and enabling positive life choices.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care and support to adults with learning disabilities in their own homes.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including intimate personal care as needed (e.g., showering/bathing, dressing/undressing, and toileting).
  • Administer medication as directed and support with meal preparation.
  • Participate in leisure activities to enable individuals to get the most from their daily life.
  • Promote social inclusion, independence, and positive life choices.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience of working in a care setting or providing informal care and support to family or friends is desirable.
  • Understanding that the person is at the centre of the care and a willingness to learn and develop skills.
Working Pattern and Benefits
  • Weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays required.
  • Additional enhancements are paid on top of the basic salary.
  • Additional hours may be available on top of contracted hours.
