Lecturer in Lightning Protection

Are you passionate about shaping the future of the construction industry? CITB is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Lightning Protection to join our team at Bircham Newton.

Role Overview

As a Lecturer, you will lead curriculum teams to embed the requirements of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) into everyday teaching, learning, and assessment practice. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality vocational education, supporting instructors and assessors, and ensuring learners are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support vocational instructors and assessors through induction, probation, and ongoing development
  • Conduct Learning Walks, Desk‑Top Evaluations, and quality reviews
  • Deliver CPD sessions and Personal Development lessons
  • Liaise with Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations
  • Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory lessons aligned with industry standards
  • Create inclusive teaching resources and provide tailored learner support
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute to review processes
  • Promote career progression and provide guidance
  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and foster a positive learning environment
  • Maintain strong industry relationships and stay current with sector developments
Essential Experience
  • Level 3 vocational qualification directly related to lightning protection
  • Specialist licence to practice qualifications relevant to the role
  • Relevant industry experience in construction
  • Excellent knowledge of current industry practices
  • Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve within 2 years)
  • Assessor Awards (or willingness to achieve within 1 year)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Educated to Level 2 or above in English and maths
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Desirable Experience
  • Higher‑level construction‑related qualification
  • Higher‑level education‑related qualification
  • Experience in apprenticeship delivery
