We are currently seeking a qualified individual for our Unitizer Operator position, joining our Nottingham, PA team.

Schedule
  • Schedule: Tuesday - Friday
  • Hours: 3:30am-3:30pm
  • Additional hours may be required due to business demands.

What you need to get started
  • Must complete a background and pre-employment drug screen, as well as a preplacement screening which tests the ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • High school education; or up to one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior warehouse experience is a plus. Prior Herr's warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Must possess a current forklift license.
  • Knowledge of product codes and warehouse procedures.
  • Must possess a stable work history with good references and pass drug screening.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
  • Operate the unitizers, switches, and other equipment to ensure a smooth flow of product from production into the warehouse.
  • Maintain machines at maximum performance to meet quality standards, including unit integrity, accurate unit counts and code dates.
  • Operate the Unitizer PC for checking counts, changing destinations, entering items into lanes, and purging lanes when items are complete.
  • Keep the reject line clear to support production.
  • Will maintain forklift certification and perform forklift inspections, documenting and reporting any problems.
  • Count and load accurate quantities of product from holding lanes to unitizers.
  • Communicate with other shifts to maintain proper flow of products into and out of the warehouse.
  • Purging finished product from holding lanes at the end of shift and ensuring lanes are counted for accuracy by shift end.
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with the process lead and maintenance to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Conduct daily and weekly PMs.
  • Record mechanical issues for potential work during slower production.
  • Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical repairs on unitizer equipment and switches; assist maintenance as needed.
  • Follow GMP and SQF requirements and attend related meetings and/or training; operate by MES standards and procedures.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when on duty.
  • Keep the work area and machines clean and organized; maintain pallet storage areas free of non-related items.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
