12 Month FTC CAD Designer - Mechanical Focus

Location: Northamptonshire (Driving licence essential)

Full-time | Permanent

£33,000 starting salary, rising to £35,000 after 3 months

Are you a skilled CAD Designer with a passion for mechanical systems and a flair for creative engineering? Our client is a leading specialist in delivering high-end solutions to the live entertainment, touring, and immersive events industry - is looking for a talented CAD Designer on an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract to join their dynamic team in Northamptonshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and translate detailed 2D and 3D fabrication, layout, and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Understanding engineering principles, collaborating with other professionals, and ensuring designs meet specific project goals and industry standards.
  • Produce detailed technical drawings, also known as blueprints, from these models for various stages of a project.
  • Work with other specialists to understand design requirements and turn them into accurate technical plans.
  • Verify designs meet project specifications, quality standards, and relevant industry regulations.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in CAD Design roles or Mechanical Design - ideally in lifting systems, steelwork, or live events
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (2D and 3D)
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and modular assembly
  • Excellent communicator - able to engage both technical and creative stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence due to location of the role
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of stage machinery, hoists, motors, and load-bearing systems
