Overview

10894 - We are looking to recruit a Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver to work on a 12-month fixed term contract at our 499 branch at 2 Albion Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL6 6HF. Opening hours for our branch are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 18:00. We are looking for an individual who is flexible to work within these branch opening times, who has great people skills and the desire to provide a professional service standard to both our customers and the Pharmacy Teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescription items to private houses, nursing and residential homes promptly and conscientiously.
• Provide a high standard of customer service and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand.
• Work under pressure to deliver prescriptions within the designated time frame.
• Ensure delivery items are received in line with the company’s regulated procedures and pay attention to detail.
• Plan and print daily routes in branch using basic computer skills before starting deliveries.
• Assist with PR exercises to increase business if required.
• Use your own vehicle for the role; ensure your personal insurance policy allows for business use and obtain confirmation from your insurer prior to interview. The company provides a financial contribution to the business aspect of the insurance upon receipt of appropriate documentation.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and the ability to work as part of a well-established team.
• Very basic computer skills for route planning and printing.
• Own vehicle with business use insurance (see note above).
• Willingness to work within branch opening hours (Monday–Friday, 08:30–18:00).

Compensation and Benefits

• Mileage reimbursement: 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles; 25p per mile thereafter per HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts should be kept for each visit and mileage claims submitted weekly.
• Discretionary bonus scheme (optional).
• 4 weeks’ paid holiday plus statutory holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees) and holidays increase with service.

• Regulatory training where required.
