Are you a patient, dedicated, and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a child’s learning journey?

GSL Education are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupil in Wakefield (WF4). This role involves providing tailored, individualised support to help the learner access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of 1:1 TA:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
  • Assist with learning tasks, behaviour support, and emotional regulation.
  • Help the class teacher implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Encourage engagement, independence, and positive interactions.
  • Support the pupil in both classroom and small-group settings.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to staff and parents.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability and a proactive attitude to meeting individual needs.
  • Understanding of SEN, behaviour support, or 1:1 provision (desirable).
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
