Learning Support Assistant & 1:1 Support Staff

You’re the calm voice, the steady presence, the person who helps a child believe they can.

Primary schools across Southwark are looking for Learning Support Assistants and 1:1 Support Staff to work closely with pupils who need a little extra help to thrive. These are caring, community‑led schools that value their support staff just as much as their teachers.

Your day‑to‑day will include:

• Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Helping children stay focused, confident, and engaged in learning
• Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and positive behaviour
• Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to put support plans into action

This role could be a great fit if you:

• Have experience supporting children in a school, nursery, or similar setting
• Are patient, nurturing, and calm under pressure
• Enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Have SEN experience (ASD, ADHD, SEMH), or a genuine desire to learn
