GSL Education are looking for a caring, dedicated, and resilient Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a primary school in Loughton from September 2025.

This is a rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in supporting the child’s learning, development, and wellbeing, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.

Assist with learning activities, adapting resources to meet the child’s individual needs.

Support the child with social skills, communication, and emotional regulation.

Implement strategies set out in the child’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Liaise with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents/carers to monitor progress and share updates.

Promote inclusion and help the child to build confidence and independence.

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language, or SEMH needs).
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach.
Ability to build trusting relationships and encourage independence.
Strong communication skills to work closely with staff and parents.
Relevant experience in a school or childcare setting (Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable but not essential).
