Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to a young learner in Havant. The role requires proven experience in teaching Functional Skills Maths and/or English, strong communication skills, and an ability to adapt materials for individualized learning. Sessions are approximately 2 hours per week, starting ASAP, with flexibility around scheduling. An Enhanced DBS certificate is required or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 Functional Skills teaching to a young person who requires structured, supportive learning.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet Functional Skills standards.
• Track progress and provide brief updates/records as required.

Skills

Proven experience teaching Functional Skills (Maths, English, or both)

Education

Teaching qualifications such as PTLLS, DTLLS, CertEd, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent
