You'll translate user needs into clean UI in Figma, collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver intuitive experiences for families. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience designing consumer-facing products with a strong portfolio demonstrating both UX and UI skills. Experience in a startup environment is preferred.

Summary

Mini Studio helps parents and kids create personalized cartoons that teach values and emotional skills. We’re hiring a Senior User Experience Designer to make this experience simple and intuitive for families. You’ll own core flows, remove friction, design clean UI in Figma, and help us deliver a clear, joyful creation experience that parents and kids can navigate together.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of core user journeys across the Mini Studio app, focusing on clarity, simplicity, and beginner-friendly experiences.
• Audit existing flows to identify friction, drop‑off points, and cognitive load issues.
• Translate product goals and user needs into clear UX structures, wireframes, and polished UI in Figma.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering to define requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure designs are usable and feasible.
• Simplify complex creation workflows into smooth, motivating steps with high completion rates.
• Produce high‑quality low‑fidelity and high‑fidelity prototypes in Figma.
• Run lightweight usability testing or structured feedback loops to validate flows.
• Present work clearly, explaining the rationale and tradeoffs behind decisions.
• Advocate for minimalism, intuitive mental models, and clean product architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing consumer‑facing digital products (mobile or web), with strong UX foundations.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify complex flows and design high‑conversion, beginner‑friendly experiences.
• Strong portfolio showing both UX reasoning and clean, tasteful UI execution in Figma.
• Excellent communication and structured thinking — no fluff.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and content teams.
• Comfortable shipping quickly in an evolving startup environment.
• Experience designing onboarding, creation tools, generative media flows, and mobile‑first interfaces.
• Bonus : UI / UX experience with interfaces for kids
