Job Summary

“Responsible for performing a range of professional tasks related to the development, coordination, and oversight of Safety Management System (SMS) activities at Textron Aviation.”

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) for a Part 145 Repair Station (in coordination with the ESCAR) and a Part‑CAMO for NCC operations.
  • Measure, evaluate, and enhance the effectiveness of the SMS, policies, and procedures. Recommend changes to improve workplace safety and reduce accidents and injuries (in coordination with the ESCAR).
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report statistical data on accidents, injuries, losses, damages, and exposures. Monitor and implement corrective actions to address potential hazards in line with the safety action plan. Provide periodic reports to the Accountable Manager (ACM) and the responsible committee.
  • Organise and lead Safety Committee meetings.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and control of required safety training programmes within the organisation. Conduct specialised safety and environmental training as needed to communicate hazard control measures.
  • Promote a Just Culture and maintain an open reporting system.
  • Provide expert advice on safety issues, including compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk management processes.
  • Initiate and, if necessary, conduct investigations of occurrences and generate reports.
  • Perform internal safety audits to ensure compliance.
  • Lead environmental compliance efforts related to hazardous waste, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right‑to‑know programmes.
  • Collaborate with the European Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager and external safety experts to achieve compliance with corporate and local EHS requirements.
  • Integrate safety into Textron Aviation’s culture, taking into account the company’s operational goals, needs, and diverse environments.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate standards.
  • Provide guidance during incident investigations involving serious or questionable injuries or illnesses. Recommend preventive measures based on root cause analysis to avoid recurrence.
Support to Compliance Monitoring Manager
  • Performing Audits and managing Corrective Actions
  • Assuring liaison with Aviation Authorities
  • Performing the management of change
  • Assuring adherence to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition and CAME
Education / Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aviation, specifically in Continuous Airworthiness Management and / or Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Technical degree or certification as aircraft certifying staff (alternatively, 10 years of relevant aviation experience).
  • Comprehensive understanding of corporate safety risk management and aviation safety practices, including Human Factors, ICAO standards, European safety requirements, and Just Culture principles.
  • Demonstrated success in process definition, implementation, and management, particularly in Compliance Monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Textron Aviation products is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills.
