A leading food manufacturing company in Rouen is seeking a Production Team Leader to enhance operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met, developing team capabilities, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in food processing and have at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for fostering team engagement and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position in manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in shifts (08 hours/day, 6 days/week).
  • Demonstrated ability to confront inappropriate behavior positively.

Job Description

Overall: To deliver the shift/line objectives by empowering and engage people to develop their capability and ways of working through Nestlé Continuous Excellence implementation. Ensure line (shift) production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with internal and external requirements meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental needs (strive towards Manufacturing Excellence).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the identified development plan and assure the competencies of his/her team (incl. Temporary people) as per the agreed plan with Production Manager (proper training inc. equipment, safety procedures, hygiene).
  • Coach employees to fulfill and exceed the requirements of the job through NCE approach.
  • Ensure the timely deployment of People development plan and assure the competencies of his/her team as per the agreed plan with PM (proper training inc. equipment, safety procedures, hygiene). Enforce strict compliance to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by all personnel within the shift.
  • Manage Production effectively through operational reviews and use Standard Routines (SDCA) to ensure sustainable results. Use of Basic Problem Solving tools and knowledge sharing (OPLs) to drive continuous improvements.
  • Provide appropriate solutions, actions or corrective actions when deviation found in operations.
  • Analyze and address equipment breakdowns or machine stoppages. Coordinate with the Engineering team to solve the problems. Optimize operations, processes and equipment to achieve the best line efficiency and performance, minimize manufacturing losses. Involve in the design of the layout and equipment when necessary.
  • Strongly involve in continuous improvement and problem solving activities.
  • Control the cost of production by managing and controlling material usage (Yield and Losses), manpower, machine utilization, M&R activities and etc.
  • Check and correctly report production outputs, work in processes and material usage daily. Take appropriate actions if needed.
  • Support other departments (AG, QA, Engineer and etc.) for production related activities such as safety audit, manufacturing trials for new product development, quality audit, energy saving projects, investigate the root cause of consumer complaints and etc.
  • Ensure constant dialogue with relevant stakeholders (line shift teams, Production Manager, Maintenance, Unions, functional representatives on the line).
Requirements
  • University Degree with major in technical background, food processing.
  • More than 02 years of experience at the same position in manufacturing companies.
  • Good at English communication.
  • Computer knowledge: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, etc.
  • Willing to work in shift (08 hours/day, 6 days/week).
  • Demonstration of leadership skills in positively confronting inappropriate behavior and using everyday coaching to ensure involvement of the workforce.
  • Advanced understanding of skills knowledge and behavioral requirements of positions under their responsibility (e.g. functional, hygiene, safety, technical, etc.).
