Description du poste

Reporting to the Artistic Director, you will be responsible for directing and producing FX. Working with the core team and technical directors, you will define the expected level of quality and establish the production pipelines. Collaborating with the entire production team, you will ensure visual quality aligns with the creative vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and ensure the artistic direction of FX, guaranteeing visual coherence with the game universe in collaboration with the project's artistic director.
  • Create and integrate visual effects using particle systems and appropriate textures.
  • Supervise and support the FX team, organizing workflows and ensuring the quality of effects produced.
  • Propose and optimize production methods, continuously improving pipelines and practices in conjunction with the Associate Producer of Art.
  • Balance visual quality and performance, ensuring efficient FX integration into the game engine.
  • Work with various teams to ensure synergy between FX and gameplay.
  • Monitor technological and artistic developments to innovate and improve visual effects quality.
  • Maintain and reinforce the visual identity of the game in line with artistic direction and narrative.
  • Share best practices and provide technical and artistic support to help team members develop their skills.

Required Experience:

  • Significant experience as an FX artist in the video game industry, ideally across a full console game development cycle.
  • Experience or interest in team management.
  • Mastery of game engine particle systems.
  • Good knowledge of real-time game engines and production pipelines.
  • Proficiency in 2D authoring tools (Photoshop, etc.) and 3D software (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate professionally in English and French.
