A non-profit medical organization based in Paris is seeking a JACIE Medical Officer to oversee certification processes and develop standards for stem cell transplant and cellular therapies. The ideal candidate is a board-certified medical doctor with at least 5 years of experience. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule and a gross annual salary ranging from €69,551 to €78,563 based on experience.

YOUR MISSION

The JACIE Medical Officer oversees the European Certification Scheme for Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies by supporting certification processes, developing standards and education, ensuring high‑quality reports, and representing JACIE and EBMT with external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary medical, scientific, and technical expert within the JACIE Programme.
  • Lead the development of FACT‑JACIE Standards in collaboration with FACT colleagues, and drive other joint initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships and actively promote JACIE with professional associations, regulatory bodies (including the European Union and national Competent Authorities), and industry partners.
  • Support the JACIE Working Party in shaping governance and strategic direction for JACIE and its Certification process.
  • Provide expert input to the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee on Certification and regulatory matters.
Main Tasks
  • Provide expert guidance by responding to queries from Centres, JACIE Inspectors, and Accreditation Coordinators on the application and implementation of Standards.
  • Review inspection reports to ensure high quality and consistency, supporting the Assurance Committee in its oversight role.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training for JACIE staff, volunteers, and the wider EBMT community through workshops, webinars, and educational materials.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advocacy and Quality of Care to shape and implement communication strategies in partnership with EBMT’s communications and marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the development of EBMT’s advocacy strategy in relation to JACIE and Certification.
  • Represent JACIE and EBMT at meetings with internal and external stakeholders, providing authoritative expertise on certification, accreditation, and regulatory affairs.
  • Work with the Director of Advocacy and Quality of Care and FACT colleagues on Standards development and joint projects.
  • Review interim audit reports to assess centres’ ongoing compliance, escalating issues to the Assurance Committee when required.
  • Oversee and assess certification impacts of changes in certified centres in collaboration with the Director of Advocacy and Quality of Care and National Representatives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the certification process to ensure delivery against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Requirements: Qualification
  • Must be a Medical Doctor, board certified Haematology / Immunology or relevant sciences.
Experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience HSCT and / or Cellular Therapies.
  • Experience in writing grant applications (desirable).
  • Experience working in a JACIE accredited centre.
  • Experience as a JACIE Inspector (desirable).
  • Experienced user of Microsoft products, particularly Word / Excel.
Knowledge
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory and accreditation frameworks in Europe (desirable).
  • Good understanding of FACT‑JACIE standards.
  • Knowledge of new treatment strategies and scientific developments and their impact on field of stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies.

Willingness to travel to national and international venues (mostly within EU) to participate in and facilitate meetings. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • Full‑time contract, 37.5 working hours per week.
  • 2 5 working days of Annual leave + 15 days RTT.
  • Salary : 69,551 (scale 17.0) - 78,563 (scale 17.4) gross per year (depending on experience).
  • One‑off payment of 800 euros gross to help you set up your home office.
