We’re building out the technical heart of Sand to Green, the agri-tech impact venture behind the RegenWise platform — and we have one senior engineering seat left to fill.

💫 About us

Sand to Green’s mission is to scale regenerative agriculture globally. Our SaaS product, RegenWise, helps assess, design, and monitor ecosystem-restoring farming systems using satellite, soil, and climate data. We work hand-in-hand with top research institutions like CIRAD.

We’re looking for a senior software engineer who can join quickly in the short term. The contract will be under exploration with you, either a freelancing contract, CDD and CDI contract. The right person is someone who has strong experience in backend development, API-first environments, and modern web app architecture — and who cares about impactful, mission-driven work.

Your role

• Ship core features: data ingestion, geospatial views, forecasting, MRV, dashboards
• Extend and improve our Django backend monolith application keeping it scalable
• Work in an API first environment, proactively identifying new datasets and data improvements
• Design scalable data models and improve performance and reliability (latency, parallel tasks, retries)
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with agronomists and PM to turn agro-concepts into computational models
• Guide architectural decisions for product scale and reliability
• Work with satellite-derived and geospatial datasets
• Adapt our product to the needs of our clients.

Skills

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in backend / data-heavy systems
• Skilled in building scalable SaaS platforms, ideally with spatial / geodata components
• Comfortable working cross-disciplinarily with scientists, agronomists, and product
• Strong expertise in API-first environments, understanding of latency optimization and parallelization, ability to handle complex data models
• Comprehension of satellite analytics or geospatial workflows (bonus)
• Experience in early-stage or impact-driven companies (bonus)
• Passionate about climate tech, regenerative agriculture, and building for long-term ecological impact (bonus)
• Full stack experience is a plus
