About the "Carbon Farming" Project

As part of Bayer 2030 objectives, the Europe region of Bayer Crop Science aims to support farmers by promoting agricultural practices that generate positive climate impacts.

Therefore, we are looking for a Data Analyst / Data Quality Manager with strong data analysis skills, a solid foundation in agronomy or environmental sciences, and advanced digital skills to manage, analyze, and validate large volumes of agricultural data while ensuring rigorous QA/QC standards.

Your Mission

Your main mission is to ensure the quality (QA/QC) of agronomic data and contribute to their analysis and valorization to produce reliable insights for European Carbon Farming projects.

Your Profile

With a background in Engineering (environment, agronomy/agriculture), Data Science, or a related scientific field, you have a strong interest in data analysis applied to agricultural and environmental challenges.

You have solid experience in managing complex datasets and are looking for a position that allows you to take real responsibility for data quality processes within carbon and regenerative agriculture projects.

Your Assets?
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English (main working language).
  • Strong interest and understanding of carbon projects, greenhouse gas accounting, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies.
  • Marked interest in digital tools applied to agriculture or environmental management.
  • Good understanding of economic models related to sustainability and environmental challenges.
  • Proficiency in Python, Tableau, or equivalent tools for data analysis, dashboard creation, and insight generation.
  • Ability to innovate and propose improvements to existing processes and tools.
  • High adaptability in a multicultural and multi-country environment.
  • Ability to manage complex subjects and large volumes of data with rigor and autonomy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ease in interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
More Details on the Proposed Mission:
  • Application of QA/QC rules to databases: Ensure the integrity, reliability, and consistency of data collected across participating countries.
  • Data analysis and visualization: Develop, in collaboration with digital teams, analysis and visualization tools to assess carbon emission results.
  • Collaboration with local teams: Work closely with field teams to collect, manage, and verify data from agricultural operations.
  • Database documentation: Maintain and improve documentation related to data structures, processes, and collection protocols.
  • Quality control and critical review: Ensure quality control and a critical analysis of the entire data lifecycle, from collection to reporting.
  • Compliance monitoring: Contribute to monitoring regulatory and methodological requirements related to carbon projects.
