The Role:

We seek a talented and experienced Assistant Sommelier.

Description Brief:

The Assistant Sommelier provides courteous and efficient wine and bar services to guests and crew. They also oversee the services in the lounges and bars and direct the assistance of the server. The Assistant Sommelier is responsible for the inventory of wines and spirits in his/her assigned area. The Assistant Sommelier is the wine educator together with the Sommelier, therefore, she is also responsible for the training of the restaurant/bar staff with regard to winemaking techniques, grape background, characteristics, and history. The Assistant Sommelier must follow the training program as per the Sommelier and Hotel Director’s monthly planning.

• Experience onboard passenger vessels as an Assistant Sommelier is preferred but not essential.
• Hold a minimum WSET level 2 or equivalent certificate.
• Valid Basic STCW certificates, as required for the position.
• An amazing team player with a positive attitude to ‘get the job done’.
