In this role, you will build and scale backend systems for a Fortune 500 enterprise, working across Java and Python to develop robust, secure, and high-performing API platforms. You will collaborate with senior US-based technical partners while taking full ownership of development tasks, driving them from planning to delivery. This position requires a strong modern coding mindset focused on simplicity, reliability, and security within a distributed Azure cloud environment.

What to Expect in This Role (Responsibilities)

• You will develop, deploy, and maintain a scalable API platform using Java and Python (with a focus on FastAPI).
• Design and implement secure API management practices including rate limits, tokens, and robust security protocols.
• Create and maintain clear and comprehensive API documentation using Swagger.
• Manage API orchestration and complex integrations across multiple systems.
• Implement observability and performance monitoring, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users.

Requirements

• 4+ years of proficient experience in backend development using advanced Java and Python libraries.
• 3+ years of solid understanding of RESTful principles, including practical experience with FastAPI.
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying applications in Azure.
• 3+ years of experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
• 2+ years of experience working within CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced/Fluent English (written and verbal) for daily remote collaboration.
• Strong communication, accountability, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Deep knowledge of OAuth, JWT, and modern security standards for external-facing APIs.
• Advanced experience documenting complex APIs with Swagger or OpenAPI.
