SAP Functional Expert – IShift Finance
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Sanofi is deploying an enterprise-wide SAP S4/HANA solution through the iSHIFT project. The program focuses on Finance, Supply‑Chain, and Manufacturing modules across all Global Business Units (GBUs), aiming to standardise processes and provide unified analytics.
Job Summary
The Finance (A2R, P2P, CI2, Tax) Solution Delivery Expert will design and deploy a single SAP solution for all business units worldwide. Responsibilities include solution design, implementation, testing, migration, and ongoing support while ensuring alignment with corporate best practices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Within the iSHIFT Program the role encompasses the following areas:
Scoping
- Contribute to scoping studies.
- Support workload estimation for new scope and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Design of the Solution
- Collaborate with business enablement on global design or fit‑gap workshops.
- Propose SAP solutions that minimise gaps versus standard functionality.
- Perform impact analysis for application changes and legacy systems.
- Contribute to transversal stream designs (master data, analytics, authorisations, controls, UX, integration).
- Deliver design documentation (solution documents, functional specifications).
- Continuously improve solutions through POCs and new SAP S4/HANA capabilities.
Development and Testing
- Configure, unit‑test, and document system settings.
- Work with development to refine functional specifications and unit tests.
- Ensure development quality through audits and KPI tracking.
- Plan, document, and execute integration and system tests.
- Support user acceptance testing and defect resolution.
- Utilise program‑defined documentation and testing tools.
- Complete all deliverables, e.g., test protocols and reports.
Migration and Go‑Live
- Participate in migration activities for the stream.
- Document and conduct cut‑over activities.
- Update training materials and deliver training sessions.
- Provide go‑live support and hyper‑care.
- Lead transition to AMS, including knowledge transfer and incident hand‑over.
AMS Commitments
- Offer functional expertise for complex issues and validate AMS‐proposed enhancements.
- Engage in cross‑project activities and referent expert support.
- Maintain current reference documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement via new functionalities and POCs.
Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, computer science, or a comparable field.
Professional Experience
- 2+ years experience with SAP.
- A minimum of one full‑lifecycle SAP implementation.
- Track record in designing and customizing finance modules (AP, AR, AA, GL) with a focus on P2P.
- Knowledge of integration with controlling, order‑to‑cash, purchasing, and manufacturing processes, preferably in the pharmaceutical or consumer products industry.
- Experience in analysing and designing finance business processes in similar sectors.
- Understanding of other SAP functional domains is an advantage.
- Experience with master data management, IDocs/BAPIs, interfacing SAP with legacy applications, and program debugging.
- Operational finance experience is appreciated.
- Proven experience at major IT consulting firms.
- Experience managing SAP projects in complex, international environments.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and general IT tools.
- Knowledge of Agile project methodologies, SAP S/4HANA, OpenText VIM and/or Coupa is a plus.
