On behalf of our partner C&A, we are looking for the best talent to join rindus. C&A is a multinational retail clothing brand, with stores in all Europe. We are currently collaborating with their e‑commerce division, with the headquarters in Düsseldorf (Germany). You will work in a distributed team from our office in Málaga (Spain) or from home.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP BTP Engineer with strong experience in ABAP development and proven leadership in managing and mentoring engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) Model, and integration with on‑premise SAP systems and SAP RISE environments (including S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and others), while driving innovation and quality in enterprise‑level projects. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing SAP solutions leveraging the BTP ecosystem, while leading a team of engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions. All design and development should be done with a clean core approach and mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Development:
  • Design and develop cloud‑native applications on SAP BTP using CAP, Node.js, Java or ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
  • Integrate on‑premise SAP systems with cloud solutions using SAP Cloud Integration (CPI)/Integration Suite, Event Mesh, and Destination services.
  • Implement Fiori/UI5 applications on BTP, ensuring optimal user experience and performance.
  • Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) principles and ensure high code quality through automated unit, integration, and regression testing.
• Technical Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of SAP engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Define coding standards, best practice, and ensure adherence to Continuous Delivery processes.
  • Review and optimise technical designs, code, and deployment pipelines to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• DevOps & Reliability Engineering:
  • Manage deployments via SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, Kyma, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps).
  • Implement Continuous Delivery pipelines with automated build, test, and deployment stages to accelerate safe, reliable releases.
  • Apply SRE principles to monitor system reliability, error budgets and performance metrics, ensuring service stability and scalability.
  • Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, testing and observability to reduce operational toil and increase deployment frequency.
  • Establish robust incident response and root cause analysis practices to ensure continuous improvement in reliability and performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Partner with architects, Product Managers and project managers to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and thought leadership during project planning and solution design phases.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with the latest SAP technologies, tools and frameworks.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including DevSecOps, TDD, and SRE‑driven service management.
  • Continuously improve engineering productivity, deployment speed and system reliability through process and tool enhancements.

What you'll bring

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Experience:
  • 7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, including OData services, CDS views and ABAP RAP.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) development.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams (2+ years preferred).
  • Experience implementing CI/CD, TDD, and SRE practices in enterprise environments.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • SAP BTP services: Cloud Foundry, Kyma, SAP CAP, SAP CPI/Integration Suite, Event Mesh, Destination, and XSUAA.
  • Strong in ABAP RESTful programming, OData, and SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of microservices, API‑first development, and cloud‑native design principles.
  • Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, SAP Cloud ALM) and SLO/SLA management.
• Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and coach technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and capacity management.
• Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
  • SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP BTP or equivalent certification.
  • Experience integrating SAP BTP with non‑SAP systems via REST APIs or event‑driven architectures.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working in global, distributed teams.
