A leading consulting and engineering firm is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to oversee large-scale projects in Spain. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary projects and a technical degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. Strong stakeholder coordination and risk management skills are essential for this role, which requires operating within a multi-cultural environment across Europe and Africa.

Formación

  • Over 6 years of experience in managing engineering projects, preferably in data centers.
  • Affinity with digital and automated design processes, such as BIM.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and local language.

We are currently partnering with a leading global consulting and engineering company that are looking for experienced data centre professionals to join their team. Our client is working with many major developers in the data centre space and require a MEP Project Managerfor their Spanish location.

Our client offers strategic, tactical, and operational advice to a variety of entities, including colocation data centres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Their team is composed of experts in diverse fields such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil engineering, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology.

Responsibilities :

  • Managing and leading large-scale projects in a multi stakeholder environment throughout a complete project life cycle, supporting our customers multinational clients to make the best value decisions
  • Developing, leading and managing the team during project development and delivery
  • Initiating projects together with clients, coordinating stakeholder input, analyse and appraise production solutions, prepare project briefs & business cases and gain the necessary approvals within the client’s organisation
  • Be in charge of all project controls : e.g. planning, cost control, project administration and contract management
  • Operating in an international context (anticipate short, medium and long-term travel)
  • Leads projects with short lead times
  • Our clients projects are in Europe & Africa, so coordinating and working with people and subcontractors of the local culture is a must
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion
  • Coordinate project resources, including internal team members, external vendors, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless project execution

Requirements :

  • A background from a Technical University (civil, mechanical, electrical)
  • Over 6 years of experience in the management of multidisciplinary design and engineering and construction projects, preferably in the data centres or other relevant sectors
  • Affinity with digital and automated design and engineering process (BIM, CDE)
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language (and language local to office location)
  • Previous employment by a design and engineering company would be an advantage
