Overview
Join our dynamic and collaborative STC Power Electronics team in Nigrán where innovation meets autonomy. As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of cutting-edge electronic products for the electric and hybrid vehicle industry. In this position, you will be responsible for the design and development of PCBAs, solving complex technical challenges and coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout the design process. You will work in a global environment, interacting with cross-functional teams and OEMs of leading brands, while enjoying the flexibility and empowerment of a growing technical center.
Responsibilities
- Design and document innovative electronic hardware solutions to interface and control our automotive components within customer vehicle systems.
- Develop hardware designs that meet stringent automotive quality standards, leveraging established development tools and processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and testing, aligning with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Translate customer and internal specifications into detailed hardware requirements, ensuring clarity through reviews and technical discussions.
- Coordinate with external development partners to align on technical deliverables and integration milestones.
- Participate in internal and customer meetings to define test strategies, review results, and provide technical solutions.
- Create schematic designs for new projects, based on mechanical constraints and customer requirements.
- Lead PCBA development, from schematic to layout, and support initial bring-up and testing in close collaboration with software teams.
- Perform analog simulations including thermal, power, and signal integrity analyses to validate design robustness.
- Support early-stage PCBA testing, ensuring functionality and reliability of first prototypes.
- Contribute to Design Validation (DV) testing and assist manufacturing teams during Process Validation (PV) phases.
- Actively support R&D initiatives from a hardware development perspective, contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, similar or compatible experience
- Proficiency in PCB design tools, such as Xpedition Enterprise or Altium Designer, with a solid understanding of layout best practices.
- Strong background in analog and digital circuit design, with proven experience in developing reliable and high-performance PCBAs.
- Experience collaborating with electronic component suppliers, including sourcing, specification alignment, and technical discussions.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact confidently in a global, cross-functional environment.
