Una organización internacional de turismo busca un Director de Finanzas y Administración en Madrid, responsable de la gestión financiera y cumplimiento normativo. El candidato ideal tiene 15 años de experiencia, está calificado como contador y posee conocimientos sobre regulaciones españolas. Se requiere fluidez en inglés y español, y experiencia previa en el sector de turismo. La posición exige atención al detalle y capacidad para comunicarse claramente con la alta dirección.

Formación

  • Experiencia mínima de 15 años en finanzas y administración.
  • Sólidos conocimientos sobre contabilidad y regulaciones en España.
  • Experiencia en organizaciones sin fines de lucro o basadas en membresía.

Responsabilidades

  • Gestionar todas las operaciones financieras de WTTC, incluyendo contabilidad y reportes.
  • Preparar estados financieros mensuales y anuales.
  • Liderar el cumplimiento de normativas fiscales y auditorías.

Alongside our Council Members and Board of Vice-Chairs, OPCO and Executive Committee (EXCOM) representatives from our Member organisations, WTTC professionals are responsible for guiding and supporting the work of the Council in fulfilment of its mission.

Role Overview

The Finance & Administration Director will oversee WTTC’s financial management, planning, reporting, and administrative operations from its new European Headquarters located in Madrid, Spain.

It is a hands‑on and strategic position responsible for preparing and presenting financial reports, ensuring accurate and transparent data, and supporting the Interim President & CEO through the provision of clear, well‑structured financial information.

The role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality outputs.

The Finance & Administration Director will prepare reports and presentations for OpCo and EXCOM, ensuring that all financial data is complete, accurate, and presented in a way that allows the numbers to speak for themselves.

Responsibilities – Finance Operations
  • Manage all aspects of WTTC's financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounting, reporting, and treasury management.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
  • Produce detailed financial reports and presentations for the Interim President & CEO, OpCo, and EXCOM meetings, ensuring that all figures are accurate, clear, and ready for presentation.
  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitor expenditure, and identify risks or variances.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, payments, invoices, and reconciliations daily.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and financial advisors as necessary.
  • Personally perform core financial and accounting activities to ensure consistency and quality.
Responsibilities – HR & Administrative Support
  • Support HR with payroll, benefits administration, and employee‑related financial processes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment, data protection, and operational regulations.
  • Maintain accurate financial and administrative records for audit and reporting.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements relevant to the European HQ in Madrid, Spain.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
  • Support the Audit and Finance Committees with regular financial updates, documentation, and presentations.
  • Ensure all financial and administrative processes are well‑documented, traceable, and audit‑ready.
Required Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (Equivalent international certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Spain's accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks with international experience.
  • Minimum 15 years’ solid experience in finance and administration.
  • Experience working within a Global international, membership‑based, or not‑for‑profit organisation.
  • Previous experience in the Travel & Tourism sector, or within an organisation linked to global policy, industry representation, or advocacy, is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in financial planning, management reporting, and budgeting in a non‑profit, membership, or international organisation context.
  • Experience preparing budgets, reports, and forecasts within a not‑for‑profit, membership, or international organisation.
  • Excellent command of accounting and ERP systems (experience with Sage, Salesforce, or similar platforms desirable).
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to provide accurate information and clear support to senior colleagues.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish required.
