As part of Forvis Mazars’ strategic move to create a centralized service to serve clients across Europe, we have created Global Compliance & Reporting service with teams, processes and technology that allows multinational groups to meet all its accounting, tax, payroll and legal obligations and commitments, both locally and internationally while having accurate information centralized and delivered from our Center of Excellence (CoE).

QRM is one of the key pillars of the Forvis Mazars global strategic plan and Forvis Mazars – CoE is looking for a Compliance Officer (with German) located in Barcelona to assist and directly report to the County Acceptance & Compliance Officer.

Role description :

You will be a well-organized, and internationally minded professional with relevant experience in process and controls work and good attention to detail.

Key responsibilities :

1. Assist in managing the firm’s acceptance and onboarding processes.
2. Support in addressing ethical and independence matters at the firm level.
3. Conduct risk assessments, including KYC / AML, international sanctions, and cryptocurrency sector-related matters.
4. Participate in monitoring activities and quality control works.
5. Support in drafting reports related to compliance, risk management, and quality assurance.

Skills :

1. Strong interest in compliance, risk management and regulatory matters.
2. Knowledge of KYC / AML procedures, international sanctions, and the cryptocurrency sector.
3. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German; French is a plus.
5. Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset, ensuring availability and responsiveness to the needs of teams and providing support aligned with business objectives.

Experience :

1. Previous professional experience, preferably in consulting or in a professional services environment.
2. Educational background in Law Compliance or Audit.
3. International mindset - able to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the international network, with strong networking capabilities and good communication skills.
4. Innovative thinking - with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in becoming a technical expert on quality management and risk assessment techniques.
5. Policy management, including policy management tools.
6. English required to a high standard - both written and oral. German would be very useful.
