The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, strong negotiation skills, and fluency in English. Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years in procurement or supply chain management in the chemicals industry.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Experience in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategy for chemicals.
- Build relationships with suppliers globally.
- Lead negotiations and manage contracts.
- Conduct market analysis for trends in chemicals.
- Drive cost savings through strategic sourcing.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and QA teams.
- Promote sustainable procurement practices.
- Monitor supplier performance with established KPIs.

- Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for chemicals, aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with global and regional suppliers, ensuring the procurement of high-quality chemicals at competitive prices.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions, and manage contracts to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the chemicals category. Stay informed about market developments, pricing trends, and supply chain disruptions.
- Cost Management: Drive cost savings initiatives through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and process improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure the alignment of procurement activities with product development and manufacturing needs.
- Sustainability: Promote sustainable procurement practices, ensuring that the selection and use of chemicals meet environmental and regulatory standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs for the chemicals category and regularly monitor supplier performance, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of global experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain management, preferably within the chemicals industry.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Language: Fluent in English; additional languages especially German are a plus.
