A leading Insurtech company in Berlin seeks a skilled DevOps Engineer to ensure the scalability and reliability of their cloud platform. You will optimize processes, design infrastructure on AWS, and improve CI/CD pipelines, contributing to a dynamic team. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in similar roles and a strong background in container technologies and Infrastructure as Code. This position offers hybrid work options and a supportive company culture.
As part of our DevOps team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of EMIL’s cloud platform. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers to streamline our infrastructure, automate deployments, and evolve our system architecture to support a growing set of products and customers.
Optimization and automation of processes in our software engineering environment
Designing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on AWS (and occasionally other clouds)
Implementing and improving Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
Monitoring, analyzing, and continuously improving system performance, robustness, and scalability
Collaborating closely with software engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and enhance developer experience
Designing resilient architectures for new services, features, and platform components
Proactively identifying recurring operational issues and developing long-term solutions
Providing input on improving internal processes and best practices across engineering
Strong sense of ownership, high-quality standards, and initiative to improve systems and processes
5+ years of experience in a similar DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role
Experience with AWS
Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
Great affinity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and container technologies (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes)
Good understanding of observability tools and performance monitoring
A pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
High quality standards, self-initiative and willingness to take on responsibility
