The MIKUTA brand was founded in Berlin by Jacqueline Mikuta and Klemens White, starting in 2017 with a small jewellery line, which later expanded to clothing in 2019. MIKUTA is a young, wild & free-inspired fashion brand for modern women with a glimpse of rock’n’roll. MIKUTA is currently one of the fastest-growing direct-to-consumer brands in the fashion market.

Our Team is spread across Europe, with a Studio Office in Berlin and a production Office in northern Portugal. We are currently working with Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter Collection cycles and soon grow to a product portfolio of more than 400 products.

As our new Chief Product Officer, you will lead and shape the core departments that bring MIKUTA’s timeless, minimalistic, and rock-inspired pieces to life. Collaborating closely with our Creative Director, you’ll ensure our product development aligns seamlessly with our brand vision, delivering exceptional quality and style to women globally. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll oversee not only our existing product lines but also lead the exploration of new product categories, such as MIKUTA Home driving the future growth of the brand.

This role is primarily based in our Berlin office, but regular travel to our Portuguese office will be required to manage local teams and ensure alignment across locations.

• Team Management and Coordination: Lead and manage the Design, Product Development, and Purchasing departments, ensuring alignment with MIKUTA’s brand vision and goals.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration between teams across the Berlin and Portuguese offices, providing guidance, support, and structure to achieve seamless coordination and operational excellence.
• Design: Partner with the Creative Director to ensure all designs reflect MIKUTA’s identity and resonate with our audience.
• Product Development: Manage the development process for all existing and new product lines, ensuring they meet quality standards, market needs, and launch schedules.
• Purchasing: Optimize procurement strategies to source premium materials while balancing cost efficiency and sustainability.
• New Product Exploration: Drive the expansion into new product categories, such as MIKUTA Home from conceptualization to market entry.
• Travel regularly to the Portuguese office to lead teams and ensure operational consistency across locations.
• Analyze market trends and customer insights to guide strategic decisions on product development and innovation.

• Exceptional English skills both verbal & written.
• Proven leadership experience in the fashion or lifestyle industry, with expertise in managing cross-functional product teams.
• A track record of exploring and successfully launching new product categories or sub-brands.
• Strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and procurement in the context of affordable luxury.
• Exceptional collaboration skills to work closely with creative teams, senior leadership, and international offices.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Portugal.
• Analytical mindset with a passion for innovation, market trends, and delivering excellence.
• Excellent communication skills to inspire teams and align departments under a unified vision.
