Your mission at Plantura

Define and scale the next generation of Plantura's customer experience. We’re building Europe’s most personalized gardening ecosystem and now we’re looking for the strategic leader who will define and scale the next generation of Plantura’s customer experience.

Your mission: Bring our value "We Create Effortless Mastery" to life across app, shop, and physical products. As a hands‑on leader, you’ll connect design, technology, and profitable growth – and build our design function into an unbeatable competitive advantage.

This is your role: You’ll take on people and strategic responsibility for our lean, high‑performing design team and work directly with executive leadership. Your success shows in measurable results: better conversion rates, higher customer satisfaction and retention, and a growing team of top talent. As guardian of our brand, you’ll ensure design excellence across all touchpoints – from app to shop to product. You’ll lead design as a strategic growth driver, not a service function. As part of the leadership team, you’ll navigate strategic ambiguity in new categories and early product phases, building structures where none exist yet.

  • You define the UX/UI vision for our growth: Overarching vision and design strategy for app, shop, and magazine – with the research and design system frameworks that enable scaling.
  • You build a world‑class team: Full people responsibility, active development of our top talent, and the certainty that design excellence comes from people.
  • You protect and strengthen our brand: As Brand Custodian, you implement our values conceptually and ensure brand integrity and digital impact across the entire customer journey – from first awareness to post‑purchase.
  • You drive the end‑to‑end design process: You work in close partnership with Product Management and Engineering to translate complex problems into intuitive, elegant solutions. You establish an agile design process (from prototyping through usability tests to final UI design) that leads to faster time‑to‑market and higher product quality.
  • You make design profitable: You direct the development of channel‑optimised creatives (statics & videos) in close collaboration with Marketing that measurably contribute to ROAS and CAC goals. You establish a scalable creative testing process that continuously translates learnings into better performance.
  • You make design deliverable: From idea to print‑ready files, you ensure new Plantura products launch on time and error‑free.
What you bring

A clear profile for leadership and strategic execution

  • Leadership experience: Proven success in leading design teams in D2C or e‑commerce environments (ideally 8+ years professional experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles).
  • Strategic competence: Deep expertise in developing and implementing UX and design strategies (UX Vision, Design Systems, Research Frameworks) and driving initiatives with P&L impact (e.g., CRO, retention).
  • Pragmatism & business focus: You work proactively, solution‑oriented, and understand that design is a commercial lever. You translate design goals into measurable business KPIs and continuously optimise for conversion, retention, and CAC.
  • Data‑driven customer centricity: Through continuous user research (qualitative & quantitative), you generate customer insights that inform design decisions and validate hypotheses.
  • Hands‑on mindset: You’re a strategic leader who isn’t too proud to build the prototype yourself or jump into a sprint when time‑to‑market matters.
  • Technology affinity: You understand technical constraints (API limits, performance, mobile‑first) when building integrated digital products (app, e‑commerce shop, AI‑powered guidance) and can translate design visions into feasible features.
  • Languages: Fluent German and English are essential for communication with partners and our international team.
