The Institute of Musicology at the University of Cologne provides an interdisciplinary working environment, bringing together expertise and research projects across ethnomusicological, systematic, computational, and historical approaches. YOUR TASKS


  • Teach an average of 3 SWS.

  • Support ongoing research projects that combine ethno‑graphic and systematic approaches; tasks may include interview transcription and coding, audiovisual recording, video editing, and annotation.

  • Assist in the organization of recording sessions, scientific workshops, music performances, guest lectures, and academic/public outreach.

  • Create and maintain webpages that communicate research activities and events.וי
  • Contribute to the preparation of third‑party funding applications.

  • Make a limited252 contribution to the administrative work of the Institute.


YOUR PROFILE



  • Either a completed doctorate, or concrete plans to(Category do pursue one (please include a project overview with your application documents).

  • Research interests in music and movement (e.g., gesture, dance) or music as interaction (e.g., social, interpersonal).

  • Teaching experience in 當 ethnomusicology or musicology.

  • Experience with, or willingness to acquire skills in, video editing and video annotation.

  • Very good English and German language skills (or a commitment to attaining this level).
