We, Logicalis Connected GmbH, are looking for an experienced WAN Architect (all genders) to take responsibility for architecture, innovation, and the implementation of new backbone technologies in a dynamic, international environment with cutting-edge tools and methods.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Architecture Development & Optimization
2. Planning, developing, and continuously optimizing the technical architecture of our IP backbone
3. Integration of new IP backbone functions into a complex system landscape

Technology Analysis & Innovation

1. Evaluation and classification of new technologies such as NFV, SDN, orchestrator solutions
2. Ensuring a high-performance, automated, and future-proof IP backbone

Project Management & Implementation

1. Technical management and support of projects at national and international levels
2. Balancing innovation, time-to-market, and sustainability

Collaboration in DevOps Team

1. Close coordination of architecture designs and derivation of solution concepts within an interdisciplinary team

Supplier Management

1. Technical negotiations with manufacturers and service providers, considering economic aspects

Your Profile:

1. Degree in network technology, computer science, or a comparable qualification
2. Several years of professional experience in an ISP environment with MPLS-based core
3. Expertise in backbone routing design and protocols such as IS-IS, BGP, MP-BGP, Segment Routing, LDP, TCP/IP
4. Experience in peering design, route reflector architectures, and traffic engineering tools
5. Knowledge in data modeling (e.g., YANG) and flow modeling (e.g., TWIG, Mistral)
6. Experience with Python, JSON, or similar technologies
7. Familiarity with scalable architectures like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
8. Knowledge of CI/CD processes (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
9. Fluent German and English skills in speaking and writing
