To strengthen our team of around 80 professors, the Faculty of Computer Science is seeking to fill the following professorship as soon as possible:

W2 Professorship (f/m/d) in Computer Science, with a focus on IT Security

Your responsibilities

• Conduct teaching in both English and German (language proficiency sufficient for teaching is expected within 3 years), particularly in the field of IT Security (e.g., networks, operating systems, secure software development, cryptography, reactive security, digital forensics, offensive security, organizational security, IT service management), and further develop the curriculum with innovative approaches.
• Strengthen the university’s research and transfer activities, develop a research profile, and collaborate with internal and external research partners.
• Represent the professorship in teaching, research, and transfer, and actively participate in academic self-governance.

Your profile

• Completed university degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Practical professional experience in the above-mentioned subject area, including IT security (e.g., networks, operating systems, secure software development, cryptography, reactive security, digital forensics, offensive security, organizational security, ITSM).
• Teaching experience and didactic skills.
• Willingness to conduct hybrid (online and in-person) courses.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Excellent professional network in the field.
• Passion and experience in applied research in the above-mentioned areas.
• Ideally, experience in acquiring and managing externally funded research projects.

Appointment requirements according to § 47 of the Baden-Württemberg Higher Education Act (LHG BW)

In addition to a completed university degree, appointment requirements include a particular aptitude for academic work, usually demonstrated by a doctoral degree, as well as proven teaching ability.
