Responsibilities
- Performs duties concerned with the preparation of maintenance plans and schedules, specifications, and engineering estimates covering exterior and interior mechanical systems and interior sanitary systems, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water distribution, sanitation systems, refrigeration, fire extinguishing systems, automatic doors and gates, elevators, cranes, storage tanks and similar systems.
- Projects include major repairs, maintenance, rehabilitation, and alteration to existing government facilities, office buildings, living quarters, family housing, utility plants, shops, motor pools, gas stations, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Description of the Education & Training Levels: E&T Levels I through IV are not creditable for positions in this occupational series. E&T Level V requires graduation from a Fachhochschule, Berufsakademie, or Technische Hochschule as an engineer in the required discipline, and recognition by German authorities to practice engineering in Germany. Applicants from foreign countries must obtain equivalent certification from German authorities.
- Office automation skills are required.
- Driver's License class B required.
- Language proficiency: English Level B2 and German Level C1 required.
Additional requirements
- External applicants: Police Good Conduct Certificate prior to appointment; cost not reimbursable; non-US citizen family members are exempt from this requirement.
- Upon appointment, two valid picture IDs are required to access computer systems (acceptable documents include: Personalausweis, Reisepass, EU Driver's License).
- Foreign National Screening: a background check will be initiated within 3 days after appointment; if unsuitable, employment may be terminated.

- Designated duty station is Vilseck; future reassignment within the same works council agency and commuting area is possible.
