Position Brand Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of packaging lines and device assembly lines by minimizing service interruptions. This role includes overseeing the repair and maintenance of all process equipment as required to support the Packaging and Device (DAP) manufacturing perimeter.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of technicians working rotating shifts to cover 24/7 operations.
• Adhere to the Maintenance Program, ensuring all preventive, corrective and general maintenance is performed and documented.
• Define and support a continuous improvement program.
• Provide leadership for the Operations and Flow Team, utilizing the various MSOEs to ensure people, processes and equipment stay compliant with cGMP and Lilly standards.
• Maintain a solid understanding of mechatronic disciplines, maintenance and repair methodologies, and Process Controls Network.
• Support capital projects and ensure operations comply with European equipment safety directives, cGMPs, EPA and OSHA regulations.

Key Objectives / Deliverables

• Promote a safety culture and oversee maintenance, health and safety risks.
• Recognize hazard conditions and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Lead and mentor technicians on shift, fostering technical expertise, team cohesion and communication.
• Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot equipment problems on the DAP lines.
• Review and evaluate corrective and emergency work orders to identify trends and initiate change controls and SOPs.
• Supervise maintenance technicians’ performance and completion of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Own the maintenance program, its definition and execution, including equipment obsolescence review and recovery plan.
• Establish and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring it remains within allocated limits.
• Provide 24‑hour emergency response and manage outside contractors, ensuring they are properly trained and documented.
• Encourage employees in planning and goal setting, ensuring process readiness for inspection and audit support.
• Perform all aspects of the position following cGMP, safety and OSHA regulations.

Interact with local and global functional areas and external suppliers, influencing, negotiating and making decisions through those interactions.

Staff Development and Management

Develop employees and future leaders, ensuring they acquire experience and knowledge in the pharmaceutical business. Coach and mentor internal resources.

Resource Management

Foster an inclusive workplace and engaged workforce, ensuring effective hiring and staffing.

Basic Requirements

• Excellent working knowledge of process maintenance subject area, workforce/supplier capabilities and industry developments in a GMP environment.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical and other disciplines, and understanding the contributions of multiple trades.
• Management experience in a similar role within the maintenance or engineering sector.

Minimum of 5 years of Process Maintenance Management Support experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare facility within a GMP environment.
