Zusammenfassung

A leading automotive company is looking for a (Sr.) Engineer Ride & Handling Tuning in Rüsselsheim am Main, Germany. The role involves testing and developing chassis systems for ride and handling performance, collaborating closely with R&D teams globally. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in suspension development, a degree in mechanical or automotive engineering, and excellent analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is also required.

Qualifikationen

  • Min. 3 years of related experience in suspension development and tuning for an automotive OEM or tier 1 supplier.
  • Knowledge of fundamental suspension design / K&C principals.
  • Very good command of English and intercultural skills.

To start shortly, we are currently seeking an (Sr.) Engineer Ride & Handling Tuning (M/F/D)

Responsibilities
  • Test and development of ride & handling performance attributes to meet development targets
  • Subjective evaluation and benchmarking of ride comfort, handling (inc. limit) and steering characteristics
  • Verification and tuning of chassis systems inc. K&C characteristics, shock absorber and other suspension components.
  • Performance target definition for full vehicle, system and components level of new vehicle projects
  • Identification of latest market and technology trends / Scouting and implementation of latest development tools
  • Project planning and execution to ensure optimal usage of budget and resources to meet expected timeframe
  • Documenting and reporting of project & development results
  • Close communication and collaboration with HMETC internal departments and R&D Center in Namyang (South Korea)
Qualifications
  • Degree in mechanical / automotive engineering with clear knowledge and passion for vehicle dynamics
  • Min. 3 years of related experience in suspension development and tuning for an automotive OEM or tier 1 supplier
  • Proven subjective evaluation skills in ride and handling areas (e.g. damper systems, steering, ESC and chassis components)
  • Clear understanding of fundamental suspension design / K&C principals and its impact on subjective R&H performance
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a Premium European OEM using state-of-the-art technologies would be desired
  • A full valid B driving license with a proven ability for dynamic vehicle control up to and over the limit
  • Willingness for frequent travel to various test locations and proving grounds across Europe and globally
  • Excellent analytical skills with a hands‑on proactive approach and problem‑solving mentality
  • A very good command of English, intercultural & communication skills
  • Proficient in presenting, reporting and handling Microsoft applications like PowerPoint and Excel
