Overview
On behalf of our client, SpaceOpal, we are looking for a Service Delivery Manager. Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission (EC) contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations provide high-quality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the world as a civil-controlled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage.
What is expected from you:
- Coordination of system and segment operation as much as the service engineering team
- Coordination of technical and operational System Level aspects with the operations managers (MOMs, SOMs and others) and engineers of the Centers and Segments
- Ensuring engineering and execution of routine and contingency system level operations (SLOP) associated to system, segment and service evolutions
- Support to overall system and service validation including overall planning, execution and reporting
- Proactively support to Business Continuity tasks in particular during the on-call period
- Support the Evolution Team in planning and coordinating the overall system migration and service transition
- Maintaining system and service knowledge and information
- Support of continual service and operations documentation improvement based on the System and Service evolutions
- Support the system configuration management
- Support the implementation of start of operations and services with new releases, in synergy with the indications of the functional line of management (Head of SDM, Service Provision Manager)
- Coordination of contingency resolutions at system/service level with the support of the operations managers and service engineering team
- On-call support
- Preparation, validation, and authorization of security procedures as required by operation and SECOPS requirements
- Test and validation of security operations before and after launch of a satellite (e.g. SCTC, KVLT, SIOT, IOV test campaigns)
- Coordination of Security operations to support the launch of a satellite
- Secure operations planning and analysis (routine)
- PRS Service activities coordination (GSMC/GMS)
- Support GSOV and simulation campaign
- Contributing to operation reporting
- Coordinating CLA activities with GMS ops, GCS ops, HE, site and service SEC
- Coordination and execution of the Long-Term Plan and the Mid-Term Plan activities, in particular:
- Collecting all activities needed for Service Provision, planning the activities in three different time-frames, and keeping the stakeholders (Contracting Authority and Spaceopal teams) informed
- Interface for all GSOp Planning issues across all SPO teams
- Identifying and informing the stakeholders about planning conflicts, and suggesting solutions from the scheduling point of view
- Pre-defining plans for the different disciplines, like Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Mission Operations, Security Operations and User Service
- Participating to the Coordination Meetings as well as the Planning Meetings at the different time-frames and levels, by providing schedules and accessing solution to scheduling conflicts from a planning perspective
- Supporting the Contracting Authority by preparing the Long-Term Plan and the Mid-Term Plan: Information Interface to the Contracting Authority in conjunction with the Lead SDM and the Evolution and Engineering Manager
- Deriving the LEOP/IOT Timelines in coordination with the LEOP/IOT responsible persons in SPO as well as all affected SPO CTMs
- Supporting the Service Provision Prediction as well as providing support to the Key Performance Indicator Measurements
- Tracking each planned activity in the different time-frames and providing feed-back
- Supporting the evolution to an integrated planning, configuration and resources management system
- The arrangement of operations and deployment should also be scheduled by means of the planning system; the same applies to the evolution releases
- Support the resource and availability management for scheduling a consistent plan.
What you offer :
- University degree (Bachelor or higher degree) in Engineering, preferably in Aerospace
- Proven working experience in space industry, space operations or satellite services
- Good knowledge on satellite systems (subsystem as minimum)
- Strong problem-solving skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player skills
- Available for travels to operator’s/SSEG sites as required
- Fluent written and spoken English

- Availability to travel to the listed locations and in other relevant project locations within Europe: Fucino (IT), Madrid (ES)
- Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration.

Where:
