Overview

Position at Confluent Germany GmbH. We help organisations harness the power of continuously flowing data to innovate and compete in the digital world. We are creating a data streaming category and aim to enable organisations to create experiences and leverage data in transformative ways. The role is for a Senior Solutions Architect within our Professional Services team who will help customers leverage streaming architectures and applications to achieve business outcomes.

You will engage directly with customers to provide software architecture, design, and operations expertise, drawing on deep knowledge of Apache Kafka, the Confluent platform, and complementary systems. You will work with cross-functional teams and partners to drive best practices, accelerate value realization, and support streaming adoption for enterprise deployments.

What You Will Do

• Understand customers’ business drivers and strategy and create a vision and roadmap to establish a Confluent Data Streaming Platform within their environment.
• Design an executable data streaming strategy that enables customers to derive value from their data via a unified platform and operating model.
• Help customers determine platform and/or application strategy for moving to a real-time, event-based business.
• Present onsite or remote workshops for the customer’s architects, developers, and operations teams.
• Investigate solutions to difficult challenges.
• Write and present recommendations, architecture decisions, and design documentation for customers.
• Be a thought leader on Data Streaming best practices, including technology, organizational processes, and governance aspects.
• Support the practice in presales activities, including requirements gathering, estimates, and compelling services proposals.
• Create reusable assets to help develop the practice and improve delivery quality and consistency.

What You Will Bring

• Deep experience designing, building, and operating in-production Big Data, stream processing, and/or enterprise data integration solutions, ideally using Apache Kafka.
• Strong understanding of creating reusable data products and helping customers adopt them.
• Ability to work well individually and within cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience managing multiple B2B infrastructure software development projects, including driving expansion, customer satisfaction, feature adoption, and retention.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiating skills to establish credibility at all organizational levels.
• Experience operating Linux (RedHat and Debian-based distributions).
• Experience using cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) for running high-throughput systems.
• Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with distributed systems (Kafka, Hadoop, Cassandra).
• Proficiency in Java.
• Strong problem-solving ability with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain tricky issues and complex solutions.
• Extensive customer relationship management experience and collaboration skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and travel to meet customers.

What Gives You An Edge

• Attained Confluent and/or Kafka Certifications.
• Knowledge of SAP Datasphere's integration capabilities with Confluent for real-time data streaming and bi-directional data flows with SAP systems.
