Your mission
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder EU-funded projects with a focus on compliance, performance, and measurable outcomes (incl. coordination of activities and tasks of project partners, monitoring of budgets, deliverable preparation, project reporting, etc).
- Position SUBMARINER/s.Pro strategically with regard to our different topical portfolios (including blue resource valorisation, MSP, MPA, business support, blue innovation and blue skills) and connect key project results to the company’s overall strategy.
- Scout new project acquisition opportunities to advance our strategic objectives, including consortium building, strategic design thinking and proposal writing.
- Lead stakeholders’ engagement activities within and beyond projects, including government agencies, industry partners, research and non-governmental organizations, to advance our impact across the Baltic and North Sea region and beyond.
- Author policy briefs, position papers, topical expert reports, and project deliverables.
- When needed, lead strategic project communication, dissemination and exploitation tasks, including CDE strategy development and implementation
- Represent the SUBMARINER Network/ s.Pro at workshops, conferences and events, including workshop facilitation and public speaking.
- Provide guidance for and potentially line manage junior staff and/or working students
Your profile
- Relevant university degree at Master’s level in an environmental / biomarine or social science discipline
- At least 5 years work experience working in EU projects and/or relevant industry sectors. A strong network in the blue economy / sustainability field, and with EU institutions or other relevant stakeholders, is a distinct advantage.
- Proven experience in project acquisition coordination and proposal writing for EU projects
- Experience and interest in the field of sustainability, environmental or ideally marine topics (blue economy, aquaculture, marine spatial planning or similar)
- Analytical, research and communication skills and the ability to produce high‑quality reports, briefs and policy recommendations
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Proficiency in German and/or other languages of the Baltic Sea region is an advantage
- Good knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint and other collaboration tools
- Able to travel occasionally in Europe to co-host or participate in events.

About Us
sPro - sustainable-projects is a consultancy specialized in the coordination of transnational projects, mostly funded by the European Commission. Our topical focus lies in projects dealing with the sustainable use of the sea. We run the permanent secretariat of the SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth and act as coordinators of the EU Mission Ocean in the Baltic and North Sea. SUBMARINER is the cooperation platform for actors/initiatives across the Baltic Sea Region and beyond who promote innovative and sustainable uses of marine resources.
We have a long-term portfolio of over 30 large-scale projects and operate with an extensive network of trusted cooperation partners from all European countries, encompassing research, industry, business development, NGOs, and the public sector.
