Purpose of the position

Purpose of the role is to contribute to the creation of new, dynamic and exciting snacking products across Brands, by providing specialist support for Process and Product development to the highest standards. You will apply your Process & technology knowledge and expertise to assess and develop robust processes specifications to produce our products according to the consumer demands, ensuring costs, line efficiency, no losses and high quality. You will be accountable for establishing long term strategic initiatives, in conjunction with Marketing and the MU’s, to ensure that the product ranges and brands keep ahead of major competitors.

Responsibilities

Join Intersnack’s international R&D team as a Senior Process & Product Development Manager, where you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of snacking. Based at our headquarters in Düsseldorf, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across 20+ countries and 17 production sites to develop innovative, sustainable, and consumer-driven snack products in the Potato Chips & Tortilla Chips category.

• Lead the development of new products aligned with consumer and customer expectations
• Define robust process specifications to ensure product quality, cost-efficiency, and sustainability (SBTi targets)
• Drive innovation in process and technology to reduce CO₂ emissions, minimize waste, and enhance productivity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and expert groups to optimize tools and techniques for innovation
• Build strong relationships with local and category-level R&D teams to foster knowledge sharing
• Partner with suppliers to leverage external innovation capabilities
• Manage multiple international projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related fields.
• You have a strong professional background in food manufacturing, with proven success in complex, cross-border environments.
• Experience working in multinational food companies is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Prepared to travel, normally, once or twice per months, but can be up to a couple of weeks at product commissioning.
