Senior Principal Scientist (all genders)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You are responsible for leading multiple drug discovery programs, initiatives, or collaborations in Research / Early Development (RED) Oncology from target identification up through support of early clinical development
- You support and contribute to the drug development strategy of RED Oncology and the matrixed management and coaching of peers and other colleagues in RED Oncology to support multiple drug development programs
- You support the career development and scientific strategic coaching of colleagues in Research Oncology
- You collaborate with other R&D functions and support cross-team and cross-site activities
- You implement back translational strategies at the interface of drug discovery and clinical development
- You contribute to key documentation and presentations for projects moving through internal review stage gates and regulatory submissions
- You work across portfolio assets to drive an integrated strategy with indication, MOA, or modality focus and you maintain and extend a network with external partners from academia, contract research organizations, and medical experts
- You foster creativity and motivation between scientists

WHAT YOU BRING
- You hold a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology or a related field and have several years of industry experience
- You have experience with the discovery of therapies for biomarker-driven, selected patient populations and, possess in-depth knowledge of cancer dependency databases, and data science knowledge is seen as advantageous
- You have experience in the design and execution of early-stage research program(s) to identify and validate novel targets and in strategic planning and project leadership in Oncology
- You demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work across functions and within external collaborations, and you have a proven ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner to cross-functional audiences
- You show strong organizational and time-management skills and have demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional collaborations, including managing relationships with academic collaborators and CROs
- You have the desire and capacity to participate in a dynamic and fast-paced research setting
- You are recognized for scientific innovation and accomplishment, evidenced by a strong record of publication and conference presentations in cancer biology
- You demonstrate high self-awareness as well as system awareness and strategic thinking as well as good business and external trends insights
- You proactively ask for and give feedback, collaborate with account and, apply our VACC leadership behaviors
- You focus on outcomes: define and deliver highest pipeline, team, talent, and organizational impact outcomes
