As a Senior Network Engineer at Aleph Alpha, you will play a critical role in managing and evolving the network infrastructure that powers our AI research and model training operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our enterprise network across multiple datacenter locations.

Your responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, and VLAN configurations
• Manage and optimize firewall and security configurations to ensure compliance with high‑security standards
• Ensure full operational functionality of GPU clusters supporting large‑scale AI/ML workloads
• Build redundancy and establish standards to guarantee uninterrupted operations
• Plan and prepare network infrastructure for datacenter expansion — locally and internationally
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including HPCM, DevOps, and Security
• Document network configurations, processes, and best practices

Your profile

• Several years of experience in enterprise network management
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall administration
• Experience in high‑security network environments
• Familiarity with Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls (preferred)
• Experience with Aruba and/or HPE networking equipment is a plus
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new technologies
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
