Overview

The Position

As part of our growing Computational Innovation (@computationalinnovation) function, you will work in a world of digital innovation, data-driven approaches, and cutting-edge computational science at Boehringer Ingelheim. You will be part of a global, multicultural, and open-minded team. As Senior Manager Projects and Business Planning, you will synergize your experience in strategy consulting with a passion for advancing healthcare for patients. In our Program Management Office (PMO), we are looking for an individual with strong analytics skills and a proactive mindset to enable the mission of our unit through execution of strategy and operations related to our global portfolio of projects and through support of our strategic and operational business planning. This position has a hybrid setup with approximately 3 days per week on site.

Responsibilities

• Support the general execution of strategic and operational matters of the CI Leadership Team, as a member of the CI Program Management Office to drive related operations and business outcomes.
• Anchor cross-functional strategic R&D initiatives, guide project steering with initiative owners, and support scientific delivery by developing and driving implementation of plans and frameworks, providing regular overviews and driving reporting of outcomes.
• Coordinate project portfolio management by implementing frameworks and concepts for planning and reporting to support strategic steering of scientific investments, including tracking of high-priority strategic goals.
• Connect high-level scientific and business content and strategic directions to enable decision-making and representation of Computational Innovation in the Boehringer ecosystem and towards senior management through insights and presentations.
• Collaborate across the global CI organization and with partners in Innovation, interacting with all groups to identify, prioritize, and address needs related to execution of strategy and operations, proactively gathering information and sharing it in accordance with the departmental plans.
• Serve as key contact for relevant activities of the CI department with internal and external stakeholders and partners.

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree in the life sciences/biomedical field with long term experience in strategy consulting or a similar role
• Experience in drug development and pharmaceutical R&D business processes
• Strong affinity for data-driven science and computational biology or experience in computational science
• Proven track record of project management, organizational skills, problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Excellent presentation and communication skills to convey complex concepts, with ability to set directions and drive change
• Proactive mindset and ability to interact collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and priority stakeholders
