Your Role

  • Drive the design and implementation of Statista's next-generation data architecture powering our platform and content ecosystem
  • Architect and oversee complex data systems including databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, and scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Drive technical decisions for hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including database optimization and containerization strategies
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate strategically with Data Operations, Research, and Product teams
  • Partner with the Tech division on platform transformation initiatives and lead cross-functional projects that impact business outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to modernize our data stack and drive adoption of innovative technologies
Your Skills
  • You have successfully completed studies in the fields of computer science, data science, or a related field with several years of experience in data architecture and engineering roles
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with deep experience in modern data stack tools (Polars, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Airflow, FastAPI)
  • Strong background in cloud architectures (AWS), containerization (Docker), CI/CD practices, and hybrid infrastructure management
  • Proven track record of evaluating, adopting, and implementing cutting-edge technologies and driving organizational change
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex projects, mentor team members, and take full ownership of technical solutions from conception to delivery
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences, influence technical decisions, and drive alignment across teams
  • Experience identifying systemic inefficiencies, designing process improvements, and implementing solutions that scale across organizations
  • Bonus: Experience with AI/ML implementation, modern visualization tools (Streamlit, Dash), and enterprise-scale data transformations.
