A research-oriented university in Leipzig is seeking a Junior Professor in data analytics to spearhead and support research activities. This part-time position (30 hours/week) emphasizes independent research, collaboration with international partners, and teaching supervision of student projects. Candidates should possess a Master's degree in business studies or a related field, solid knowledge of marketing and statistics, and excellent English language skills. The role provides 30 days of annual leave and integration into international research networks.
As a research-oriented junior professorship our goal is to generate scientifically robust knowledge for companies society and the scientific community. Our research focuses on the development and application of data analytics methods to address complex challenges in business and society. This includes topics such as e.g. uncovering consumer preferences predictive modeling of consumer behavior extracting insights from large-scale datasets etc.
We explore advanced statistical methods including machine learning algorithms and data visualization techniques to analyze diverse datasets and inform strategic marketing our research we cooperate with companies and international research partners.
Our goal is to make our research results accessible to the scientific and managerial community and the wider public through publication in high-ranking international journals.
We offer you the pportunity to initiate your own and / or participate in existing research projects thus further extending your methodological and theoretical capabilities.
Your work focuses on research but also supports other activities of the junior professorship.
You research independently and support the research projects of the junior professorship. You present your research results at international conferences and participate in the publication process of the research projects.
You participate in research cooperations with companies and third-party-funded projects.
You support us in teaching supervision of theses and the management of student field projects.
You obtained a scientific degree (Masters or equivalent) in business studies marketing analytics or an adjacent field (e.g. psychology informatics).
You have sound knowledge of marketing and statistics including experience in the quantitative data analysis with statistical software (e.g. R)
You have a strong interest in scientific research and enjoy working in research teams.
You possess excellent language skills in English (knowledge of German would be an added advantage).
This is a fixed-term part-time position : 30 hours per week for 3 years.
