The research aims to improve the understanding of the local electrocatalytically active regions that develop on the surface of multi‑metal based materials when exposed to an electrolyte or when current/potential is applied. Understanding how different local anodes and cathodes develop on the surface of compositionally‑complex surfaces is important for electrocatalytically driven processes.

The following activities / measures are required:

  • Research activities in the topic about mentioning including: conducting literature reviews and summarizing the scientific relevant literature; actively contributing to the design of experiments and to the planning of the research activities, preparation of weekly reports according to the rules of the group in which the scientific results are presented.
  • Carrying out local electrochemical measurements using scanning electrochemical cell microscopy (SECCM) experiments on various electroactive materials.
  • Fabrication of nanopipettes and nanopipette‑based carbon electrodes needed for SECCM measurements.
  • Correlation of electrochemical data with other local characterization techniques such as Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Raman, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
  • Participating in the general group meetings.
  • Writing of high quality paper drafts to be published in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations at project meetings and national/international conferences.
  • Storage and documentation of the data and of the experiments according to FAIR principles and in the electronic lab‑journal according to the rules of the group.
